from what ive heard, i’m about to get buried with snow over the next few days then frozen to death with an ‘artic freeze’ .

I read an article with a headline like that, but the body of the article seemed to indicate we’d probably just get a little snow and then rain would wash it away. It did leave open the possibility that the cold front would pass farther south causing more snow.

I hope it’s not going to snow/hail/whatever in the east of the country tomorrow... I have a meeting in Enschede, and I’m not really looking forward to having to cross the whole country through the snow
![]() 01/17/2019 at 14:19 |

yeah, but I can deal with it! looks like it should be decent next week though.

i think we’ve had only 1 storm, maybe 4" so far. Thats far below normal for here. by now we’ve usually had a few storms totaling a few feet.

When I visited my mom about a year ago it was in the 40's and low 50's in December. Oh and that’d be like 8-10 C, haha.
This year I’m planning on visiting in late-March.

tbh.. this is about normal for here... our cold season is usually short and late... (sometimes it doesnt turn up till about april)
and not seeing more than a dusting of snow in a year is pretty much normal

Yeah, I’ve been amazed compared to Michigan where I live now, the Netherlands is a lot more mild and seems to have gotten warmer and warmer in recent years.
Either way, the best part is getting to see friends and family, but good weather would be a nice bonus!

![]() 01/17/2019 at 15:07 |

i did a full 360 on a bicycle and didnt crash
just neatly looped round across the street with one foot down and carried on
it was damn near gracefull... but it wasnt intentional

i think you’ll be ok... stuffs freezing up tho.. so might be slippery in places
![]() 01/17/2019 at 15:39 |

Freezing rain falls to the ground as liquid rain but freezes upon contact with the ground. Sleet starts out as liquid raindrops, but they freeze into tiny balls of ice before they hit the ground.
